Your next chapter deserves to be written by you
Second 50 is a living ecosystem of Australian women in midlife and beyond — women who are actively shaping their next chapter through connection, curiosity, and contribution. What gives our community its strength is not a single voice or program, but the collective presence, experience, and generosity of the women within it.
Through conversations, gatherings, and shared initiatives, women exchange ideas, listen deeply, and open up new connections and possibilities — for themselves, for one another, and for the world around them.
Whether you are seeking more purpose, navigating life and work changes, or looking for opportunities to share your skills and experience with others, you’ll find inspiration, guidance and like-minded women who are interested in you and your journey.
Empower your change
Virtual & In-Person Circles
Our virtual zoom connection and special interest circles, and in-person meetups are forums for reflection, inspiration, and action. Women connect meaningfully, gain ideas, listen deeply and feel heard. There are many ways to join in, contribute and co-create here.
The Possibilities Lab
If you are exploring a project, creative shift, new business, or any kind of reinvention, the Possibilities Lab may be just what you need. This vibrant space and monthly zoom forum is a place to dream out loud, test ideas, and move forward with confidence.
Sage Advice Live
We host regular Zoom learning sessions — where Second 50 women share their experience and expertise. These sessions are interactive, and rich with expert knowledge, insights and practical guidance. Join live or view recordings on demand in our library.
Second 50 Life Design
This transformative hybrid program guides Second 50 women to design their next chapter with intention, joy, and authenticity. It is co-created and is facilitated by a generous Second 50 coach, author and creator of Think.Plan.Live. life design method, Gill McLaren.
“Together, we are building a trusted ecosystem of curious and motivated women who want to live intentionally, contribute meaningfully and lift each other up.”
Carolyn Betts, Second 50 Community Co-founder & Leader

See how women like you are creating change
“I cannot fault this amazing group. Carolyn, you are a beam of humility and energy”
“Second 50 continually offers content that I didn’t even realise I wanted or needed ”
“Karen - your expertise, and the teasing out of topics and sage advice has been extraordinary.”
“I am always energised and in awe by what women offer here, and who they are.”
“I came thinking I needed to exit my career to find purpose, but I’ve learned how to integrate the two.”
Think of it as a club for women who give a sh#%! Together, we are helping to rewrite the story for all Australian women.
Build a life that reflects who you are
As we move into the second half of life, many of us crave a path that feels true, energising, and aligned. Our Second 50 Life Design program helps women shape their future with intention — shifting from juggling life to integrating it. Here’s what women are saying:
“Women like us have been yearning for the opportunity to connect deeply, authentically and safely, perhaps without even knowing it was missing. Thank you Second 50 Life Design.
“It was genuinely transformative. In a world full of noise and endless ‘shoulds’, this helped me cut through the clutter and reconnect with what truly matters.”
“The group of women on this same journey further bolstered the power of reflection and reinforcement. It was a thoroughly worthwhile process."
Courageous Conversations for Midlife Women
Many of us are navigating new chapters, setting new boundaries, and finding clearer ways to speak up about what we need. This day is about learning how to do that with skill and confidence — together — in a trusted Second 50 space.
From setting boundaries with loved ones and friends, navigating workplace change, and speaking up about what you need, difficult conversations are part of life. Learning how to have them with skill and confidence can transform how we connect, contribute and live.
We are excited to have co-created this immersive day of practical learning, led by one of our expert Second 50 women, mediator, counsellor and coach, Helen Jarvis.
Helen is also the founder of Ripple Learning, a social enterprise that facilitates customised, dynamic, psychologically safe, and highly effective learning experiences and directs 100% of profits to youth mental health charities. What a wonderful opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together and support and amplify Ripple learning’s valuable work.
Turn your dreams into reality
A collaborative space for Second 50 women bringing new ideas and projects to life in your work, business or purpose.
Whether are ideating, beginning or building something, the Possibilities Lab offers monthly live Zoom Circle, idea-sharing, expert input, and a “brains trust” of women walking the same path.
Led with skill and heart by mindset and business coach and experienced entrepreneur, Karen Robertson, this is a safe space to dream out loud, test ideas, get feedback and move forward with a wise and encouraging peer group. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to be curious, committed, and willing to show up for yourself and others.
“Second 50 is responsible for my transition into action — easeful, organic, enjoyable, supported action. It’s such a breath of fresh air.”
“I watched the recording yesterday and found myself talking at the phone, putting my hand up to speak….thankfully I was alone!”
“I see the concept of a brains trust come alive in every meeting. Women spit-ball their ideas and others turn up to hold space and offer valuable feedback and reflection.”
